Time to be mature.....

More often than not, our public life is marked by wrong reactions. At best, they are immature - at worst they could be panicky. This is common across the board, may it be demand of Bhratratna for Sachin Tendulkar or the grandson-in making of Superstar Amitabh Bachchan. The more important issues are often obscured due to this lopsided approach. Instead of inculcating sports culture, we run after one Sachin and make him a demi-God. At the end of the day, this leads to nothing more than a new idol to worship.
In contrast, more mature societies are busy creating better life for average citizens. It makes little sense to run after tax concessions to an event like IPL when the government is not in a position to reduce taxes on crude oil for the fear of loss of revenue. But then this kind of thinking will require a vigilant eye on the life of a common man (which offers no glamour) rather than looking for a few celebrities (who offer a chance to the common people to forget their daily life rather than improving it.) It was only one Guru Govindsingh who said
चिडीयोंसे  मैं बाज मराउं ; तभी गोविंदसिंग नाम कहाउं
He was only one and others are many. Alas......

Looking for a superman?

Baba Ramdeo's mission has failed for the time being at least. He may continue his efforts for some more time. But the fact remains that for now, he has lost his weight. What happens to Anna Hazare if he really swings into action after 15th August 2011, is unpredictable. The government has gathered courage not to pay any heed to these people after Babaji fiasco at Delhi. What was Babaji's error? Where did he go wrong?
We people are always on the lookout for a larger than life hero. When Swami Ramdeo went for the fast against black money, we thought we have got the hero we were looking for. But when he moved from his place to save his life, we lost our faith in him. We realized all of a sudden, that Swamiji is not larger than life. He also is some times gets scared for his life. He is like us in this respect. So he is not the one who dares one and all. One we got this idea, we lost interest in him. We want none less than a superhuman hero to take us to a better life. No ordinary mortals are welcome here. Ramdevji has learnt this the harder way today. Tomorrow it could be our turn to learn the hard way that no such superheroes. We have to shape our lives or just be prepared to accept the life that we have. Superheroes are comic characters, not living men.

New entry ... new views?

I am new for this place and this is my first attempt of blogging. So I request all to pardon me if something goes wrong in the begining. All that I am saying here for my fist appearence is that true friends are hard to get. We get many acquaintances that we misread for friends. The price of such errors is high many times in life.
